“The creator must live with his or her creation.” — Liz Greene, The Art of Stealing Fire: Uranus in the Horoscope
“The summer months passed while I was thus engaged, heart and soul, in one pursuit. It was a most beautiful season; never did the fields bestow a more plentiful harvest or the vines yield a more luxuriant vintage, but my eyes were insensible to the charms of nature.” — Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
Horoscopes for this week taken from Frankenstein, and my long and winding take on the astrology for the week ahead, below, especially re: Venus conjunct Uranus during Uranus’s final week in Taurus. First, 3 upcoming summer things:
1. PSYCHO-COSMOS MONTHLY WORKSHOP. The summer and early fall lineup of Psycho-Cosmos workshops is my fave. Yesterday, we talked about sex, death, eros/thanatos, and the 8th house in astrology. You can join at any time, and get access to all the recordings from previous months and all upcoming workshops, through December. Here's what's coming (join live or get the recordings):
JULY 27, 2025: UNDERWORLD AND UNCONSCIOUS: PLUTO + DREAMS
AUGUST 31, 2025: MOON, MOTHER, MATTER
SEPTEMBER 28, 2025: MADNESS, DREAMS, THE 12TH HOUSE

2. SATURN SESSIONS (1.5 hour deep-dive into Saturn (and Jupiter, if you want) in your natal chart and in the sky. Both planets have recently changed signs, so there is much to discuss. Afterward, I email you a bespoke document with key dates for you based on our conversation, and some recommended readings/viewings. Good for those who are stuck on a project, struggling with timing--calendrical or divine, or simply curious about these planetary counterparts. I've got 4 slots in July. Grab your spot HERE
3. JULY 26: INITIATIONS: A workshop on the cardinal signs with Danielle Beinstein and Emmalea Russo. Dani is an excellent astrologer and we're going to talk about all things CARDINAL (beginnings, initiations) as so many planets have moved into cardinal signs recently. There will also be time for your questions. Come live or get the recordings. Reserve your spot HERE
OK:
On the heels of the new moon in Cancer — the light’s building, waxing. As the week opens, we find the moon in Virgo approaching a conjunction with the south node. Mars is still in Virgo, too. What can be released, cut, let go? The south node is a point of retreat, spiritual growth, quietude, less worldly spotlight. Something humble here, a remembrance of things past, quiet editing, reflection. The end of Virgo is hardcore: an image of storage, gothic, divine, bodily—the Sarcophagus (“flesh-eating stone”).
Venus in Taurus is approaching a conjunction with Uranus at the anaretic (final, fated, critical) moment of the bull. (Here’s Cormac McCarthy, in Blood Meridian: “The survivors lay quietly in that cratered void and watched the whitehot stars go rifling down the dark. Or slept with their alien hearts beating in the sand like pilgrims exhausted upon the face of the planet Anareta, clutched to a namelessness wheeling in the night.”) To me, Venus approaching a conjunction with Uranus during Uranus’s final days in Taurus is the alien heartbeat of the week.
It reminds me, especially with the moon+south node action at the start of the week in Virgo (Mary Shelley’s sign) of Frankenstein. Excitements and horrors of progress, quitting religion for the science god of forward motion, deracination as deluded panacea, forgetting earth, the body. But also — potentially great art about such themes, the sci-fi bizarre, Venusian revolution and nature re-asserting (turning and returning). Intriguing, lightning-struck beauty. The alien nature of humans.
