*This is the ninth post in an ongoing series on Pluto, astrological planet and lord of the underworld, in culture and the cosmos, who has just moved into Aquarius after sixteen years in Capricorn. “In the course of time, ‘leaders’ and ‘geniuses’ are exposed as frauds, while outsiders, outlaws, nobodies, are found to have been the true vehicles of reality.” — Erich Neumann, “Art and Time”

Melancholia, Lucas Cranach the Elder, 1532.

Venus has just moved into Aquarius. She sits with Pluto, getting infused. Aquarius is one of Saturn’s signs. So, time: its limits, restrictions, freedoms. Saturn rules our bones, what holds us together and in. Venus is attraction and love but also what we put over our bones. Our clothes. Taste. Style. Art. Pluto is death-decay-rebirth, what takes us to the underworld. We could read this Venus-Pluto conjunction in Aquarius as a dramatic transformation of taste, style, art.
